Geoffrey Tahuahua (ta-wa-wa) became Vice President of Public Policy for the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin (HBA) in June 2015. In addition to representing the HBA to over 30 municipalities in 6 counties, Geoffrey also advises the association's political action committee on strategy and selecting candidates to support.
A graduate of St. Mary's University, Geoffrey has over 8 years of experience in politics and government with a passion for tackling problems at the local level. Prior to the HBA, Geoffrey worked for the Texas Public Policy Foundation as Development Manager. Under his leadership TPPF reorganized its donor mailing program and in his first year doubled revenue from direct mail. Geoffrey also served as District Director for State Representative Lyle Larson and has consulted for campaigns in San Antonio and throughout the state including: Susan Pamerleau for Sheriff, Lyle Larson for State Representative, Elisa Chan for City Council, Kevin Wolff for County Commissioner, and others.
In his spare time, Geoffrey is active in his church as well as two Masonic lodges: University #1190 and Victory #1160, and enjoys spending time with his wife Katie, and his dog, Bonham.
